The 2025 Annual Meeting of the China Development Forum was held in Beijing from March 23 to 24. Chinese Premier Li Qiang attended the opening ceremony and delivered a keynote speech. The event was also attended by approximately 720 participants, including State Councilor and Secretary-General of the State Council Wu Zhenglong, New Development Bank President Dilma Rousseff, Asian Development Bank President Masatsugu Asakawa, as well as entrepreneurs, government officials, scholars, and representatives from international organizations.
Shenghong Holding Group Chairman Miao Hangen participated in the forum as a representative of China's private enterprises.
The 2025 Annual Forum convened under the theme "Harnessing Full Development Potential for Joint Advancement of Global Economic Stability and Growth", serving as a platform for in-depth deliberations on pivotal and cutting-edge subjects including macroeconomic policies, emerging growth drivers, consumption stimulation, neo-quality productive forces, AI development, green transition, and institutional openness. These substantive exchanges have significantly enhanced multilateral understanding of China's developmental trajectory while forging stronger mutually-beneficial cooperation.
The forum brought together distinguished Chinese and international business leaders for in-depth discussions, including global corporate representatives such as Roland Busch, Chairman of Siemens AG's Board of Directors; Amin H. Nasser, President and CEO of Aramco; Tim Cook, CEO of Apple Inc.; and Lee Jae-yong, Executive Chairman of Samsung Electronics. Chinese participants featured state-owned enterprise leaders including Chen Huaiyu, Chairman of the Export-Import Bank of China; Xi Guohua, Chairman of CITIC Group; and Ding Xiangqun, Chairman of PICC Group, alongside private sector pioneers such as TCL founder Li Dongsheng; Ant Group Chairman Jing Xiandong; Shenghong Holding Group Chairman Miao Hangen; and Lenovo Chairman and CEO Yang Yuanqing.
The China Development Forum is organized by the Development Research Center of the State Council and hosted by the China Development Research Foundation. Since its inception in 2000, the Forum has consistently adhered to its founding principle of "Engaging with the World for Shared Development," establishing distinctive features of professionalism and high-level engagement. It has evolved into a vital platform for dialogue and exchange among senior Chinese government officials, global business leaders, international organizations, and scholars from China and abroad.
